| Northern California Coast Mendocino and Point Reyes National Seashore Join
us for a breathtaking tour of some of the gems on the Northern California
coast. Hike deep in redwood forests as well as along the dramatic
coastline of the Pacific Ocean. We don't waste any time diving into the delights of the region as we embark on a walk through the giant redwoods at historic Muir Woods on the way from the airport. We will then spend the next three nights at the edge of Point Reyes National Seashore, a region of incredible natural diversity that could keep us busy for weeks. Adjoining the National Seashore is the elegant Point Reyes Seashore Lodge, our home for the first three nights.
Historic Mendocino is a gem of a town in one of the most picturesque settings on the Pacific Coast. The 1878 Mendocino Hotel is a sanctuary for travelers with its pleasant gardens and fine coastal views. While in the Mendocino area, we will head deep into the lush redwood forests. The coastal redwoods loom large and the surrounding landscape is lush with ferns. Once in the dense forest, it's hard to believe the beach is just a few miles away. On the final day we will walk along the dramatic headlands surrounding Mendocino before having lunch and saying goodbye to this beautiful area. The trip begins with dinner on Sunday and ends after hiking and lunch on Friday.
